TYPES | Therapy Journals [pt. 2]

Out of all the forms of journal-keeping, the one I am most comfortable with is the traditional pen and paper sort. I have a friend who uses a video type of journal to record her thoughts as it is faster and she likes to talk out her feelings and that is just as great! Everybody is different and there are so many options for journaling.

With writing a journal, it unloads so much burdens or worries on a page to get rid of negativity. Now one other thing about journal writing is it becomes a friend and therapist. It holds secrets that you can put it in and it is like a support when things in life gets difficult. For example, when I started college, I was a mess! I brought my journal with me and kept it safe. So when I had times when I was stressed out in school, I would pour out everything that was bothering me on the pages.

So if you are starting doing journals for the first time, it feels weird but eventually it gets more comfortable over time. How has journal-keeping helped you?
