FINDS | Kid's Journal

This journal has been probably one of my most favorite journal find at the thrift store! Basically, it is a journal meant for kids and young teens, though any age can really appreciate this therapeutic journal. The contents are prompts of understanding your emotions and thoughts by organizing them into words. You can also find this journal on Amazon for around USD$15-20 at the time of writing this. See if it's something you want either for yourself or gifting to someone else.

April 2024 Journal Haul

Here is a current update on what journal I am writing in right now. I got this journal at a Walgreens, which I think is an underrated place to get journals and notebooks. In the past, I have featured some of the cute stationary there when I make a quick stop to check out a few items. This notebook has a grid design on the back side of the pages while it has a regular lined page for the front side. On the top has a subject and date line for notes. Down side is the perforated pages that, if you are not so careful, will tear off easily if you don't want it to come out of the binding. It can be a plus if you happen to be a student who needs the pages to rip out easily (which it does) for assignments. Otherwise, I love using this to both write my thoughts down and also do little sketches on the grids. Or to practice my handwriting.

Another interesting thing is that I love writing in grid-lined pages and having a journal with that and regular lines is the best of both worlds.

Random memory: as a kid, I enjoyed making house plan sketches of dream homes and I kind of still do. I would also make spaceships layout and other sorts of building plans for either story maps or for fun imagination stuff. So if you're like me, having grids makes that kind of drawing easier.

FINDS | Additional Finds

When it comes to using a notebook for a journal, I go for a composition notebook because sometimes spiral bound notebooks get funky on the spine. Both types of notebooks can have fun covers and pages, though composition notebooks are so underrated in my opinion. Go check out some notebooks and see if it suits your writing style!
