Based on personal experience, I originally started writing in a journal around the time I was seven or eight years old to work on my handwriting. From then, I started writing in a journal when my mom gave me two or three journals she didn't use.
Firstly, I wrote a few times a week or a few times a month until journal writing came as a habit. From then, I never stopped! Now I write every single day (well, almost).
I remember my first thoughts when I discovered the journal, I saw my mom's journal. At first I thought this was some cool book as it was a red leather journal, but when I opened it, my next thought was this: WHY IS THIS BOOK EMPTY?! What the heck is this sorcery?
Eventually, my mom explained what a journal was.
Now on to answer the title and question: Why write?
That is up to you to answer. It could be to:
-Keep a personal family history
-Therapeutic reasons
-Discover who you are with self expression
-Tracking your progress
-Trying something new
-Improving handwriting (like how I started 😆)
With Journal Scribes, tips on journal keeping and making it fun is the goal!
